Ever had paint dry out on your brush or mixing palette? Well, the solution is to use a wet palette. Basically it’s a wetted sponge with a piece of waxed paper or parchment on top. You simply deposit a small amount of paint on the paper, and the moist from the soaked sponge keeps the paint from drying out. It also makes blending colors really easy. If you remember to close the lid, the paint can be used for hours.
How much water to add?
Well, the answer is as stupid as it is obvious. Not too much so that the paint begins to float and run out into the water, but enough to keep the paper wet at all times. Also, make sure the palette is leveled out, or water will puddle up in a corner leaving the opposite corner too dry.
My wet palette is from P3 paint.

If you’re having problems with the paper drying out and curling up near the edges, you’ll find this little neat trick handy. Simply add a layer or two of kitchen towel between the sponge and the wax paper. This helps to secure good contact between the sponge and paper.
